Rye, NY (Feb. 21, 2024) - #6 Alvernia University's 2024 season came to a close on Wednesday night with a 4-0 loss to #3 Manhattanville College in the UCHC Women's Ice Hockey quarterfinal at Manhattanville.

How it Happened

• Both teams played even in the first period, with both recording six shots on goal, but the game went into the first intermission tied at 0-0.
• Manhattanville broke the scoreless tie with four minutes remaining in the second period on a power play goal from Grace Genest. The Valiants then made it a 2-0 game less than a minute and a half later on a short-handed goal from Gabrielle Cox.
• The Valiants kept their foot on the gas and made it a 3-0 game eight and a half minutes into the third period.
• Alvernia held off another push by the Valiants with ten minutes to go, but the Golden Wolves were unable to put together an offensive push of their own. The Valiants went on to score an empty netter with 3:08 remaining for the 4-0 final.
