Reading, Pa. (April 28, 2024) - Alvernia's (5-9, 1-5) 2023-24 men's tennis season came to a close today as the Golden Wolves fell to Messiah (7-8, 6-0) 8-1 on Sunday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's tennis action at the Governor Mifflin Courts.
Luke Brisbois was the lone point-scorer today for the Golden Wolves. He took his #4 singles match 6-2, 6-4 to avoid the Messiah sweep. Alvernia had three singles matches go to a forced third set, but the Falcons came away with the win in each.
Lucas Berger and
Jayden Lewis also forced their #1 doubles match into a tiebreaker set, but Messiah edged out the 8-7 (7-4) win.
Today's match concluded the 2023-24 season for Alvernia. Messiah will enter the MAC Commonwealth tournament as the #1 seed following an undefeated spring in conference play.
