Alvernia led 20-7 through the first quarter and 37-19 at the half. But, the Blazers came out and outscored Alvernia 18-10 in the third quarter to get within 10, 47-37, going into the fourth. Hood outscored Alvernia in the final ten minutes, and tied the game at 55-55 with 2:06 to play.

Alvernia was held without a field goal across the final seven minutes, but the Golden Wolves 10-for-14 from the line - including 8-for-12 in the final two minutes - to secure the 63-59 win.

How it Happened
  • Alvernia got out to a 4-0 lead through the first minute of action after Jordyn Ingelido and Kylie Bradford each knocked down a jumper.
  • Alvernia ran its lead up to 20-7 through the end of the first quarter, with Ingelido and Bradford combining to account for all 20 of Alvernia's first quarter points. Ingelido finished with 12 points in the first ten minutes, and Bradford added the other eight.
  • Paige O'Brien got in on the scoring to open the second quarter for Alvernia, and a trio of made 3-pointers from Aaliyah Ferrer later in the quarter helped Alvernia maintain its lead, 31-14, with 4:48 to play in the half.
  • The Golden Wolves kept it rolling and field goals from Ingelido, Bradford, and a buzzer-beating putback layup from Nicole Etchison gave Alvernia the 37-19 lead at the half.
  • The Golden Wolves continued to lead by 18 midway through the third quarter following a pair of made free throws by Etchison and a Bradford layup off the Etchison assist.
  • After both teams went scoreless for nearly two minutes, the Golden Wolves and Blazers matched layups to get back on the board as Alvernia continued to maintain its 18 point advantage, 45-27 with 2:48 to play in the third. But, the Blazers went on a 10-0 run over the next two minutes to quickly cut Alvernia's lead down to eight, 45-37.
  • Kyla Reed hit a late layup for Alvernia in the final ten seconds of the third quarter to give Alvernia a ten point lead, 47-37, going into the final frame.
  • An Ingelido jumper opened up the final quarter for Alvernia and made it a 12 point game, 49-37. But, the Blazers answered with a 3-pointer to get back within single digits, 49-40.
  • Alvernia built its lead back into double-digits, 55-42, on six quick points off the hands of Bradford - including two made free throws to end her individual 6-0 run. But, Hood continued to stay in the game, as Alvernia went cold from the floor.
  • Alvernia became fully reliant on free throws to fend off the Blazers, but Hood closed in and tied it at 55-55 on a 3-pointer with 2:06 to play.
  • The Blazers continued to foul Alvernia, and Bradford was fouled twice over the next 30 seconds. Bradford made two of her four attempts to give Alvernia back the lead, 57-55.
  • Alvernia extended its lead back up to four, 59-55, with 44 seconds to play on another set of made free throws from Bradford. But, Hood tied it up at 59-59 on a pair of made free throws of its own and a jumper with 15 seconds to play.
  • Hood then fouled Alvernia on the ensuing inbounds, and this time Paige O'Brien went to the line to break the 59-59 tie. O'Brien made both attempts to give Alvernia back the lead, 61-59, with 11 seconds to play.
