Alvernia Back on the Road to Take on Monarchs

Wilkes, Pa. (Oct. 17, 2025) - Alvernia Football will make the road trip up to Wilkes, Pennsylvania to take on the Monarchs of King's College on Saturday in a MAC Football match-up.

Saturday will mark the sixth meeting between the Monarch and Golden Wolves. King's leads the series matchup, 6-0. The Monarchs, who are the reigning MAC Football Champions, won last year's meeting at Alvernia, 35-10. 

King's enters Saturday with a 2-3 record overall and a 2-2 record in MAC play. The Monarchs are coming off a 35-28 win over Stevenson last week, handing the Mustangs their first loss of the season. The Monarchs are averaging 24.4 points per game and have posted 30+ points in their last two outings. However, King's also gives up an average of 31.2 points per game, and have allowed 20 or more points in its last four games. 

King's offense is powered by its run-game, with the Monarchs posting 200 or more yards on the ground in both of its wins. In two of their three losses, the Monarchs were held to 100 or less yards on the ground. The ground game is led by Brennan Robinson, who is second in the MAC with an average of 119 yards per game, and leads the MAC with 7.2 yards per carry. On the season, King averages 153 yards per game on the ground. In the air, the Monarchs average 156 yards per game. Quarterback Jaelin Mims is the primary man under center for the Monarchs. He has seven passing touchdowns and averages 145.2 yards per game.

Defensively, King's allows 158.2 rushing yards per game and give up a MAC worse 262.6 yards per game in the air. King's also allows a MAC worse 420.8 yards per game. The King's defense is led by linebacker James Rush. Rush has a team-high 44 tackles on the year, including 4.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks.Defensive lineman Michael Richino has a team-high five tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. He also has 36 tackles. Defensive Back Bryan Kelly has eight pass breakups on the season and one forced fumble.

Alvernia enters Saturday in search of its first win of the year after a 38-14 loss to Albright at home last weekend. The Golden Wolves are averaging 13.6 points per game and allowing 35.8 points per game. Alvernia has allowed 35 or more points in its last three outings.

Alvernia's offense is centered around a trio of quarterbacks who have taken at least 30 attempts for the Golden Wolves. JT Timmons is averaging 49.6 yards in the air per game for Alvernia, and Dante Viccharelli has 14 completions for 28.8 yards. Viccharelli also leads Alvernia with 34.6 rushing yards per game and three rushing touchdowns. Jayden Stanfield is a utility player for Alvernia averaging 25.2 yards per game on the ground and 45.2 yards per game receiving. He also averages 22.7 yards per kick return.

Alvermia's defense allows 372 yards per game and gives up 206.2 yards in the air per game and 165.8 yards per game on the ground. Linebacker McCabe Piavis leads the Golden Wolves with 43 tackles on the season. He has a team-high four tackles for a loss and two sacks. He has one interception and one forced fumble as well.
