Alvernia Falls to FDU-Florham in Season Finale

Madison, NJ (Nov. 15, 2025) - Alvernia University Football (0-10, 0-9) concluded its 2025 season on Saturday at FDU-Florham (1-9, 1-8) as the Devils defeated Alvernia, 52-3.

The Devils led by just four, 7-3, after the first quarter. But, FDU put up 28 points in the second quarter to take a 35-3 lead. The Devils then added 17 in the second half for the 52-3 final.

How it Happened
  • After an exchanging of punts on both sides, FDU took the first play of its second possession to the end zone as quarterback Jake Sconza found Andrike Terry for a 30-yard completion to give the Devils a 7-0 lead.
  • Alvernia picked up its first first down of the game on a 34-yard completion from JJ Gonzalez to Zacai Manigo. Gonzalez then took the next two plays himself to move the chains and give Alvernia a first and goal. But, Alvernia's drive stalled out and the Golden Wolves settled for an 18-yard field goal by Toriano Allard to make it a 7-3 game with three and a half minutes to play in the opening quarter.
  • The Devils extended their next drive into the second quarter, and, on the first play of the second quarter, found the end zone on a 15-yard rush. That rush capped off a 71-yard, 10-play drive to take a 14-3 lead.
  • Alvernia punted its next possession away and FDU extended its lead on the ensuing drive. The Devils went 77-yards on eight plays and found the end zone on a Sconza 15-yard connection to Jamir Daniels to make it a 21-3 game with 7:48 to play in the opening half.
  • The Devils then added seven more on a punt block for a touchdown, and worked with a short field on its next drive to take a 35-3 lead with 35 seconds remaining in the half.
  • Alvernia held the Devils to three points in the third quarter, but the Devils added 14 more in the fourth quarter off of two short running touchdowns to take the 52-3 final.
