- The Falcons quickly bounced back in the second set, jumping out to a 7-1 lead and never looking back. Alvernia came within four of the Falcons on three occasions during the set, but Messiah cruised to the 25-9 set two win to even the match at 1-1.
- Messiah picked up set three right where it left off in set two, taking a 7-3 lead early and building it up to a 13-5 lead.

- Three straight points by the Falcons put an end to Alvernia's run and gave the Falcons a 21-18 lead. A trading of service errors got Alvernia back within two, 22-20 and an ace by Buggy made it a one point set, 22-21.
- Messiah pushed it to set and match point on a kill and bad set by Alvernia. But, the Golden Wolves held off the Falcons on a kill from McDevitt and Falcon attack error to make it a 24-23 set.
