How it Happened

Olivia Burke and Kylie Bradford also accounted for points for the Golden Wolves in the early minutes of action.
  • After holding Eastern scoreless for over five and a half minutes, the Eagles got on the board on a 3-pointer and and-one made free throw to make a small dent in the Alvernia lead,12-4, with 4:17 to play in the quarter.

  • The Golden Wolves didn't let up to open the second, with a Burke 3-pointer opening the quarter for the Golden Wolves to give Alvernia the 24-11 lead.
  • Alvernia held Eastern to just two points in the opening five and a half minutes of the quarter while the Golden Wolves put up another eight after Burke's quarter-opening three. Bradford and DeGout accounted for Alvernia's other eight points during the run to give Alvernia the 32-13 lead.
  • Alvernia was held to just one made shot from the floor to close out the half, but the Golden Wolves defense continued to hold the Eagles at bay as Alvernia took a 36-17 lead into the half. Alvernia shot 55% in the first half while holding the Eagles to just 20%. Alvernia also outrebounded Easter 23-14 in the opening 20 minutes.
  • The Golden Wolves picked up right where they left off to open the second half. Alvernia opened the half on a 12-0 run through the first three minutes to take a 48-17 lead. Scoring was evenly spread for the Golden Wolves during the run, with DeGout leading the way with four points.
