Women's Bowling Takes on Griffin Baker Classic

Deptford, NJ (Feb. 3, 2025) - Alvernia University Women's Bowling took 14th place over the weekend at the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Baker Classic in Deptford, New Jersey.

The Golden Wolves went 2-7 on the weekend, averaging 158.1 pins per game and 825.6 pins per match. 

The Golden Wolves opened up the tournament with an 814-646 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday.

Alvernia then advanced to the 13th place match on Sunday with a 998-882 win over Holy Family University on Sunday, posting its highest pin total of the weekend in the win.

The Golden Wolves broke 900 for the second straight match with a score of 927 against Wilmington College in the 13th place match, but Wilmington edged Alvernia with a 966.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday and Sunday at the AMCC Round Robin #2. Alvernia enters the tournament in fifth place after posting a 3-4 record in the first AMCC Round Robin of the season back in November.
