Reading, Pa. (June 9, 2025) - Alvernia University Director of Athletics and Recreation
Cory Beddick announced on Monday the hiring of
Nicole Rosella and
Amy Miller to lead the Cheer and Dance teams, respectively.
Nicole Rosella will take over as the Head Coach for Cheer and Amy Miller will take over as the Head Coach for Dance.
"We are excited to welcome both Nicole and Amy to the Alvernia Athletics family," said Beddick. We look forward to them recruiting and developing the next generation of cheer and dance student-athletes at Alvernia."
Nicole Rosella is a graduate of Alvernia University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and is currently pursuing her Master's. Rosella has over a decade of coaching experience in both sideline and All-Star cheer. She also founded Twisters Elite All-Star Cheer in Reading, Pennsylvania. She has led her teams to national competitions and works to guide her athletes to their full potential while instilling a sense of community and sportsmanship.
"Embracing my role as the new cheer coach at Alvernia, I am filled with excitement to bring my passion for the sport of cheer to this spirited campus," said Rosella. "Together, we will focus on the growth of our program, cultivating talent, teamwork, and resilience. My vision is to lead our team to nationals, where we will showcase our dedication and spirit. Let's uplift each other and shine bright as we embark on this exhilarating journey!"
Amy Miller is a graduate of Alvernia University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She also works at Alvernia as a Lab Technician. Miller has over 15 years of experience coaching at LimeLight Dance Studio, where she teaches ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater. She also has been cast in two musicals at a local theater.
"I am honored and grateful to step into this role here at Alvernia," said Miller. "As an alumnus, I am beyond excited to lead, inspire, and grow along with this new team. My goal is to build more than just a dance team. I want to create a home for creativity, growth, and friendships - a place where dancers feel safe to be themselves, have fun, feel fulfilled, and bring passion to everything they do, from performances to community outreach. It is about creating something that is meaningful and challenging, but fun at the same time - cheating a team that has values, accountability, and a drive towards goals."
Both Rosella and Miller will begin their respective roles immediately.
