Alvernia Returns Home to Take on Stevenson

Reading, Pa. (Sep. 19, 2025) - Alvernia Football will return home on Saturday to host Stevenson University in a MAC Football match-up.

Saturday will mark the fifth meeting between Stevenson and Alvernia. The two programs met for the first time in 2021, with the Mustangs taking the inaugural match-up, 35-6. Alvernia traveled down to Stevenson last season. The Mustangs scored off of three of Alvernia's turnovers en route to a 34-20 win.

Stevenson enters Saturday with a 2-0 record. The Mustangs defeated Bridgewater, 32-27, in the season-opener. They then opened MAC play with a 19-3 win over Widener on Saturday. Stevenson averages 224 yards per game and allows just over 300 yards per game. But, the Mustangs do well keeping their opponents off the board - allowing an average of just 15 points per game. The Mustangs themselves average 25.5 points per game and have scored 17 points off of turnovers.

Stevenson's offense is led by quarterback Jailen Knight. Knight is 17-for-34 on the year and averages 109 per game. Seth Parker is Knight's favorite target - accounting for six receptions for 132 yards on the year. On the ground, Louie Clouser and Edward Emmens share responsibility and have combined for nearly 200 yards on the season. Defensively, Tysean Milligan leads the Mustangs with 15 tackles, including two for a loss.

Alvernia enters Saturday looking for its first win of the season. The Golden Wolves opened at home with a loss to Ursinus two weeks ago, and opened MAC play at Eastern last week. Despite three takeaways, the Golden Wolves fell to Eastern, 24-14. Alvernia is averaging 15.5 points per game and allowing 32.5 points per game.

Alvernia's offense is led by a combo of Jaden Randall and Dante Viccharelli under center. Randall is averaging 93 yards per game in the air. Vichharelli is averaging 42 yards per game in the air and 54 yards per game on the ground. Alvernia's top receiving threat is Jayden Stanfield, who enters with seven receptions for 104 yards this season. Defensively, Alvernia is led by McCabe Piavis. Piavis enters Saturday with 21 tackles, including 1.5 for a loss, and an interception.
