Alvernia led 6-3 through the first five minutes of action. But, the Blazers took advantage of a long stretch of shooting and turnover troubles to take as much as a 16 point lead, 24-8, with 1:47 to play in the half.

Jordan Reynolds then subbed  in off the bench and sparked the Golden Wolves in the final 90 seconds of the half. Reynolds scored five points - including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer - to make it a 24-15 game going into the half.

The Blazers opened the second half with a jumper before both sides went scoreless until the 7:14 mark. Over two minutes later, Hood pushed its lead back up to eight, 29-21, on a 3-pointer.

A trio of made free throws by the Golden Wolves got Alvernia back within five, 29-24. Alani White then knocked down three layups in less than a minute to put Alvernia back in front, 30-29. The Golden Wolves closed out the quarter with a Wade 3-pointer and another White layup to make it a 35-31 game going into the fourth.
