Knights Down Golden Wolves, 3-2

Aston, Pa. (January 31, 2026) - Alvernia University (11-9-0, 9-7-0) dropped a MAC men's ice hockey clash against Neumann University (12-7-1, 11-4-1), 3-2, Saturday evening at the Aston Ice Works. 

The Golden Wolves and Knights were level after the first 20 minutes of action but Neumann netted two unanswered goals in the second period and then held on to secure the 3-2 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

How it Happened 
  • The Knights grabbed the lead after 14 minutes of hockey when Tony Andrews and Tyler Kennedy assisted Dexton Mozell to put Neumann up 1-0. 
  • The Golden Wolves answered back three minutes later when Will White connected with Jack Natyshak who put the puck into the back of the net and sent the game into the first intermission tied at one. 
  • The Golden Wolves came out flying in the second period and grabbed the lead after just 55 seconds thanks to a Joey Arnold goal from Gabriel Flammia put the Golden Wolves up 2-1. 
  • Neumann responded four minutes later when Lucas Culhane assisted Zack Smith to level the game at two with 15 minutes to play in the period. 
  • Neumann found the game winning with just over five minutes to play in the second period after Max Donohoe found the back of the net and gave the Knights a one goal, 2-1 lead heading into the final intermission. 
  • The Golden Wolves fired nine shots on goal in the third period including three in the final three minutes and also had three shots blocked in that same span but they were unable to find the equalizer as the Knights held on for the 3-2 victory over the Golden Wolves.
