The Golden Wolves netted three goals in the first quarter before tacking on one goal in the final three quarters of the contest to secure the 6-0 shutout victory. Jazmin Mayfield tallied five saves in net to preserve the shutout.

With the victory, the Golden Wolves clinch a spot in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs. Saturday's matchup against Widener is now slated to be for the #4 seed in the playoff bracket with the winner hosting the play-in game.

How it Happened
  • The Golden Wolves got on the board early in the contest when Ava Michael found the back of the net thanks to a Caroline Martin assist just 52 seconds into the game to put the Golden Wolves up 1-0.
  • Alvernia pushed the lead to two, seven minutes later after Sofia Mollura and Ava Michael connected to put the ball into the back of the cage. After an Alvernia corner was inserted by Mollura to Michael, Michael ripped a shot to the left post and found the stick of Mollura who redirected the ball into the goal to put the Golden Wolves up 2-0.
  • The Golden Wolves made it 3-0 before the end of the first quarter when Michael collected a rebound after a Carley Mackert shot was saved and fired the ball past the Eastern goalie and into the net to give Alvernia a three goal lead heading into the second quarter.
  • Alvernia extended the lead to 4-0 early in the second quarter when Matisyn Derkacs collected a loose ball in front of the Eastern goal and lifted the ball over the sticks of the Eastern defenders and into the goal to give the Golden Wolves a 4-0 lead at the half.
  • The Golden Wolves tallied their fifth goal of the game eight minutes into the third stanza of action when the duo of Michael and Martin connected for the fifth goal of the game when Martin assisted Michael to push the lead to 5-0.
  • Sarah Schaffer tacked on the final insurance goal for the Golden Wolves when she scored in the final six minutes of the game thanks to an assist from Reese Wilkinson to secure the 6-0 victory for Alvernia.
