Reading, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2026) — Alvernia women's soccer (3-4-3, 0-1-1 MAC) dropped its conference home opener against Albright (7-5-1, 1-1 MAC) on Tuesday evening.
How It Happened:
- Alvernia got out to a hot start and forced the Albright goalkeeper to prove herself early when Faith Greenday generated a shot on goal that was saved. Albright responded and forced Abby Rowley to make her first and only save of the night in the 19th minute.
- The Golden Wolves dictated the pace and narrative of the game throughout the remainder of the first half and during a large portion of the second half, but could not get past the Lions goalkeeper, who ended the night with five saves and earned a shutout.
- In the 75th minute, the Lions broke through the Golden Wolves defense and utilized a strong counterattack to break the ice and net the game-winning goal.
