Golden Wolves Fall to Blue Jays, 11-3

Fort Pierce, FL. (March 2, 2026) - Elizabethtown College (3-0) scored eight runs in the final three innings en route to an 11-3 victory over Alvernia University (2-1) Monday afternoon in Fort Pierce, Florida. 

The Blue Jays jumped out to a 3-0 lead after four innings but the Golden Wolves responded with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at three. Elizabethtown then rattled off five runs in the seventh inning and three runs in the ninth en route to the 11-3 victory. 

How it Happened 
  • After a scoreless first inning the Blue Jays got on the board first in the top of the second inning after an RBI single from Mason Woolwine put Elizabethtown up 1-0. 
  • Elizabethtown tacked on two more runs in the top half of the fourth inning thanks to David Wooley two RBI single up the middle plated two more runs and pushed the lead to 3-0. 
  • The Golden Wolves battled back in the fifth inning and leveled the score at three after a three run fifth inning. Logan Nelson started things off with a leadoff walk, Jake Chapman then slapped a double down the left field line to make it second and third with no outs. Quincy Esanason then worked a walk to load the bases before Joe Glass recorded a pinch hit ground out that plated Nelson to make it a 3-1 ballgame. 
  • After an Alvernia strikeout, shortstop Bobby Hansen stepped up to the plate with two on and two outs and Hansen delivered with a two RBI single up the middle to plate Chapman and Esannason to tie the game at three after five innings of play. 
  • Both teams went scoreless in the sixth inning before Elizabethtown rattled off five runs in the seventh inning to grab the lead back, 8-3. 
  • The Blue Jays then tacked on three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning to secure the 11-3 victory.
