Reading, Pa. (April 13, 2026) - Alvernia University baseball junior Timmy Hitchcock and Women's Lacrosse first-year Grace Weissenberger were named Alvernia Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of April 6 - April 12, 2026. This week's Alvernia Athletes of the Week are presented by MailShark.

Timmy Hitchcock batted .444 with eight hits and ten RBIs in a 3-2 week for Alvernia. Hitchcock finished the week with a .600 on-base percentage and a .667 slug. He went 8-for-18 with one double and a grand slam. He also walked six times. In a win over Stockton on Monday, Hitchcock went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and six RBIs. He hit a grand slam and also walked twice. In a setback to Stockton, Hitchcock walked four times and was hit by a pitch to reach base safely five times. He then went a combined 4-for-14 in a series win over Eastern. In a game one win on Friday, he went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. He followed that with a 3-for-5 performance on Saturday in game one with a double and two runs scored. In the field, Hitchcock had 10 putouts and 15 assists.

Grace Weissenberger finished the week with a team-high 12 points off of five goals and seven assists. She went 5-for-6 on shots on goal and led the team with nine total shots. Weissenberger scored or assisted on 12 of Alvernia's 13 goals scored this week. At Hood, Weissenberger finished with three goals and four assists. She followed that with a two goal and three assist performance against #15 Messiah on Saturday.

Baseball is back in action on Tuesday on the road at Rutgers Camden. Women's Lacrosse is back in action on Wednesday at Eastern.
