Golden Wolves Fall to Mustangs

Reading, Pa. (April 17, 2026) - Alvernia University (2-7, 0-4) fell to Stevenson University (4-7, 1-2), 6-1, Friday afternoon in a MAC Commonwealth tennis match in Angelica Park. 

Alvernia honored its 2026 Senior Class after the match. 

The #1 doubles pairing of Jillian Laughman and Jamielyn Kelley dropped a tightly contested doubles match to Stevenson's Sofia McCoy and Ariella Stepleman, 7-5. The #2 pairing of Grace Dobrzynski and Adelynn Steffy fell to Kara Chwang and Tiffany Njemanze in the second doubles match as the Mustangs secured the doubles point. 

Laugman then fell in the #1 singles match to Stepleman, 6-4, 6-2, and Kelley dropped the #3 singles match to Emma Clayton, 6-1, 6-1. 

Steffy dropped the first game of the #2 singles match to McCoy, 6-4, but then responded with a 6-4 win in game two to send it to a tie breaker. Steffy then took the tiebreaker set, 10-8, to secure the victory in the #2 singles match and grab a point for the Golden Wolves. 

Dobrzynski dropped the #4 singles match to Chwang, 6-2, 6-0, Jordyn Ingelido fell in the #5 singles match to Njemanze, 6-1, 6-1, and the Golden Wolves had to forfeit the #6 singles match to the Mustangs. 

The Golden Wolves are back in action next Saturday when they travel to York to take on the Spartans in the season finale.
