York, Pa. (April 25, 2026) - Alvernia University (3-14, 1-6) wrapped up its 2026 season on the road on Saturday, falling to #8/#15 York College (13-4, 6-1), 18-1, in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action at York.
The Spartans jumped out to an 8-0 lead through the first 11 minutes of the contest. Alvernia got on the board with a player-up goal by Hannah Tyler off the assist of Grace Weissenberger with 2:19 to play in the opening quarter. But, Alvernia was held scoreless the rest of the way. York took a 12-1 lead into the half and led 15-1 through the third quarter. The Spartans added three more goals in the fourth quarter to come away with the 18-1 win.
Cailyn Hawley finished the game with a team-high seven caused turnovers. With her seven on the game, she finished the 2026 season with 49 caused turnovers, setting a new single-season record for Alvernia. Hawley also finished the day with seven ground balls. Addison Bolz finished with 12 saves in just under 40 minutes of action.
Alvernia finished the 2026 season with a 3-14 record overall and went 1-6 in MAC Commonwealth play.
