La Plume, Pa. (April 27, 2026) - Alvernia University (17-23) dropped its final game of the season to Keystone College (26-9), 8-1, Monday afternoon in a non-conference baseball matchup at Keystone. 

The Giants got ahead early and stayed ahead and scored all eight runs in the first four innings of the ballgame. Keystone tallied three in the first inning, two in the second and three more in the third en route to the 8-1 victory. 

How it Happened 

• Keystone took the early lead with a three spot in the first inning thanks to a two RBI triple by Benny Hess and an RBI single by Carlos Pascual put the Giants up 3-0. 
• The Giants tacked on two more runs in the second inning after an RBI single and a RBI double by Pascual made it a five run ballgame. 
• Keystone put the game out of reach with three more runs in the fourth inning after two more RBI doubles and an RBI single up the middle made it a 8-0 Giants lead. 
• Alvernia went scoreless until the top of the ninth inning when Timmy Hitchcock belted a solo homerun as the Giants secured the 8-1 victory.

The loss ended the season for the Golden Wolves. Alvernia finished with a 17-23 overall record and a 7-14 record in the MAC Commonwealth.
