Cottrell Earns Academic All-MAC Honors

Reading, Pa. (June 29, 2026) - Alvernia University Men's Basketball sophomore Robert Cottrell earned Academic All-MAC honors as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference Monday for his performance on the court and in the classroom.

The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Cottrell, a sophomore majoring in business management, joins nine other men's basketball student-athletes across the MAC to earn the honor.

Cottrell earned Second Team All-MAC Commonwealth honors during his sophomore campaign. Cottrell played in 19 games for the Golden Wolves, tallied 739 total minutes played and scored 356 points. Cottrell averaged 17 points per game and his 17 PPG ranked him seventh in the Commonwealth and his 96 free throws ranked sixth in the conference. Cottrell also shot the three at a 40.5% clip this season and that was the fifth best percentage in the Commonwealth. Cottrell recorded 35 steals in 2025-2026, which was the seventh most in the Commonwealth and his 35.2 minutes per game was the second most in the conference.
