Alvernia University Athletics

Madison, N.J. (September 13, 2026) - Alvernia University (1-3-1) dropped a non-conference women's soccer matchup to Shenandoah University (4-1), 5-0, Sunday afternoon at the Drew Fall Festival at Drew University. 

The Hornets tallied three goals in the first half before adding two more insurance goals in the second half en route to the victory. 

How it Happened

• The Hornets scored in the first minute of the game to give them a quick 1-0 lead over the Golden Wolves and then added a second goal 15 minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0. 
• Shenandoah tallied one more goal before the half in the 32nd minute to push the lead to three, 3-0, heading into the half. 
• The Hornets extended the lead to 4-0 in the 55th minute after a Lauren Duffy goal and then Duffy tallied her second goal of the game five minutes later to give the Hornets a 5-0 lead and secured the victory.

• Faith Greenday recorded two shots for the Golden Wolves with one going on goal and Megan Reuter also recorded a shot on goal. 
• Tayler Flaherty recorded two total shots and Emily Walter tallied one shot on goal for the Golden Wolves. 
• Ava Schmidt recorded four saves in goal for Alvernia.
