Bell Scores Twice, Golden Wolves Run by Aggies, 3-0

Reading, Pa. (September 30, 2026) - Alvernia University (3-3-2) netted two goals in the first half before tacking on an insurance run in the 68th minute to secure a 3-0 victory over Delaware Valley University (2-5-0) Wednesday night in a non-conference women's soccer matchup at Alvernia.

Devon Bell put the Golden Wolves on the board in the first five minutes of the game after Megan Reuter whipped a cross in off of a corner kick before Kyla Lytle did the same in the 28th minute to give Alvernia a 2-0 lead heading into the half. The Golden Wolves tacked on one more goal in the 68th minute when Bell tallied her second of the game to secure the 3-0 victory for the Golden Wolves.

How it Happened
  • Alvernia recorded three corner kicks and one shot at the Delaware Valley net before they broke through with the game's opening goal in the fifth minute of the game. After the Golden Wolves earned a corner, Megan Reuter whipped in a cross into the Delaware Valley box that found the foot of Devon Bell who snuck the ball into the bottom left corner of the Aggies goal to make it a 1-0 Alvernia lead.
  • The Golden Wolves tallied five more shots at the DelVal goal before they tacked on a second goal in the 28th minute the same way they scored the first, off of a corner. Reuter whipped in another beautiful cross into the Delaware Valley box that landed on the head of Kyla Lytle, Lytle then directed the ball inside the left post and into the back of the net to put the Golden Wolves up two heading into the half.
  • Alvernia came out of the halftime break and kept the pedal down on the offensive side of the ball and rattled off six shots at the Delaware Valley goal before Bell found the back of the net for her second goal of the game after a corner from Faith Greenday to push the lead to three, 3-0, with under 25 minutes to go.
  • That was all the Golden Wolves needed as they held the Aggies to just one shot in the final 25 minutes, which Alvernia keeper Abby Rowley saved, to secure the 3-0 shutout victory over the Aggies.
