Biography

2024 (Junior) 

Umans appeared in 12 games for Alvernia during his junior season and made six starts on the mound. Umans started in games against Hiram, Messiah, Hood, TCNJ, Rutgers-Camden and Delaware Valley and recorded a 4-1 record. Umans best outing of the season came in his first start of the year against Hiram where he tossed five no hit, shutout innings and struck out three batters to earn the win. Umans finished with 37 innings pitched, allowed 28 earned runs, 41 hits, issued 12 walks and struck out 29 batters including a season high seven against Delaware Valley. In the field, Umans recorded one putout and five assists on seven chances and was also a member of a team that won the 2024 MAC Commonwealth Championship and made an NCAA Regional appearance. 

2023 (Sophomore)

Umans appeared in 12 games for the Golden Wolves during his sophomore campaign, he made nine starts and posted a 4-4 record. Umans struck out 29 batters, allowed 24 earned runs and issued just 13 walks in 43 innings of work. Umans best performance on the mound came against Haverford when he allowed just one run, scattered three hits, fanned nine batters and did not issue a walk in six innings of work. In the field, Umans tallied six assists on eight chances and was a member of a team that finished runner up in the MAC Commonwealth Championship and the ECAC Championship. 

2022 (First Year)

Umans made 14 appearances on the mound for Alvernia during the 2022 season, he started two games and posted a perfect 5-0 record. Umans posted a 3.18 ERA, allowing 16 runs over 34 innings pitched, striking out 24 batters, allowed 29 hits and walked just six batters. Umans also held opposing batters to just a .227 batting average and posted a 1.03 WHIP. Umans recorded his best outing of the season when he struck out seven batters, allowed two runs on three hits in 5.2 innings of work in a victory over York College. In the field, Umans tallied one putout and three assists on four chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage in 2022.
