McDermott appeared in six games on the mound for the Golden Wolves during his first year. McDermott recorded 4.2 innings pitched, allowed five hits, three earned runs and struck seven batters out including three against Heidelberg and Messiah. McDermott was also a member of a team that won the 2024 MAC Commonwealth Championship and made an NCAA Regional appearance.
