Cottrell played in all 28 games for the Golden Wolves during his stellar first year as a Golden Wolf and started in 27 of those games. Cottrell ranked third in total minutes on Alvernia with 802 minutes played and also ranked third in point scored with 324 points. Cottrell averaged 11.6 points per game, knocked down 110 field goals and recorded a 45% shooting percentage from the floor. Cottrell also made 29 three pointers at a 37% clip and 79 free throws at a 77% clip. Cottrell grabbed 68 rebounds, dished out the second most assists on Alvernia with 65, grabbed 33 steals and recorded nine blocks. Cottrell recorded a season high 23 points in a victory over Eastern where he knocked down eight shots from the floor, grabbed four rebounds and also dished out a season high seven assists. Cottrell also recorded 18 games in double figures during the 2024-2025 campaign including nine games with 15 or more points. Cottrell was also named the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year and joined teammate Jakob Kelly as Commonwealth Rookies of the Year and is the fourth ROTY in program history.
