2010-11: Named Alvernia's Male Athlete of the Week (2/28) after being named Most Valuable Player for the Commonwealth Conference Championships. He averaged 11.0 points and 4.0 assists per game in leading the top-seeded Crusaders to their first league title.He played the full 40 minutes in each of Alvernia's two, two-point wins first over #4 Messiah (51-49) then over #2 Lebanon Valley (57-55). Selected Alvernia's Male Athlete of the Week (2/21/) after netting a season-high 21 points in Alvernia's 75-70 win over Albright (2/15), also had six assists. Named Alvernia's Male Athlete of the Week (1/24) after he was one assist shy of reaching 10 in both games this week. Also had an exceptional rebounding week from the point position with five in each game. Had a season-high ten assists against Widener (1/19).

2009-10:
Named First Team All-Commonwealth Conference. Started every game and played the most minutes of any Alvernia player. Was third on the team with 14.7 points per game.Led Alvernia in 3-point % and had the most made free throws with 91. Led the conference with 166 assists. Gillis scored a career high 27 points in a double-overtime loss at Albright (2/16).Then added 21 against Lebanon Valley (2/20). The 5-10 guard averaged seven rebounds per game and handed out six assists per game this week. Had 14 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in a four-point win over Widener (2/11). Again named the AU Player of the Week (2/1) after posting a solid 13, 3, 3, and 3 in just 28 minutes on against PSU-Schuylkill. Went the full 40 against Etown, the 11th time this season he's played all 40 minutes. He shot 50 percent from the floor on the week and hit twice in three attempts from the 3-point arc. Named the Alvernia University Player of the Week (1/11) after putting up 20 points versus Carnergie Mellon and 14 at Lebanon Valley, also had nine rebounds in each game. Filled the stat sheet as Alvernia topped the Freedom defending champion DeSales (1/3) Had 20 points in 40 minutes. Added final steal and assist with 16 seconds left expanding a two-point lead to four.
