Malek played in 22 games for Alvernia during his sophomore season and finished with six points off four goals and two assists. Malek tallied his first assist of the year with an apple against Neumann and tallied his second against Wilkes when he and teammate Hunter Alden assisted Jordan Gagnon on the game winning goal in a 2-1 win. Malek also netted goals in wins over King’s and Chatham and also against Arcadia and Albertus Magnus which were both shorthanded goals. Malek tallied 51 shots on goal and recorded two blocks on the year. Malek was also a member of the team that recorded the first playoff win in program history with a 6-1 victory over Manhattanville in the UCHC Playoffs.

Malek played in 17 games for the Golden Wolves and was a member of the inaugural NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey team. Malek recorded five total points, he netted three goals, scoring against Rivier, Stevenson and Manhattanville and tallied assists against Wilkes and Utica. Malek fired 26 shots on goal during the inaugural campaign and recorded five blocked shots.
