Vande Meerakker played in all 27 games for the Golden Wolves during his graduate year and was named captain for the second straight season. Vande Meerakker had a career year in 2023-2024 with a career high in goals, assists and points. He scored a team high 14 goals and added a team high 19 assists for a total of 33 points. His 33 points led the MAC and the UCHC and was second in points per game in both the MAC and UCHC. Vande Meerakker recorded 12 multi-point games during the 2023-2024 season with three points against Stevenson off three assists and one goal and two assists against Buffalo State and Manhattanville. Vande Meerakker scored three power play goals, which came against Neumann, Nazareth and Buffalo State and his goal against Neumann came as the game winner. He recorded points in 18 of Alvernia’s 27 games this season including a stretch where he recorded at least a point in 16 of the first 20 games of the season. Vande Meerakker tallied a team high 119 shots on goal, recorded a +24 +/- and blocked eight shots. Vande Meerakker finished his career with 69 games played, 24 goals, 45 assists for a total of 69 points. He recorded 49 games played, 21 goals, 34 assist and 55 points as a member of the Golden Wolves and was named the first captain in program history. Vande Meerakker scored the first goal in program history in 2022-2023 and recorded three points in the UCHC Semifinal victory over Manhattanville, which was the first playoff victory in Alvernia Men’s Ice Hockey program history.

Vande Meerakker played in 22 of 26 games for the Golden Wolves and was a member of the inaugural NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey team at Alvernia. Vande Meerakker was named the first team captain in program history and also scored the first goal in program history with a goal just one minute and ten seconds into the first period against Rivier in the program’s first game. Vande Meerakker finished the season as the leading points scorer for Alvernia with 22 and also tallied a team high 15 assists. Vande Meerakker scored seven goals, including two in a 4-3 victory over Neumann and recorded two assists against Rivier, Manhattanville, Chatham, twice against Arcadia and one final time against Lebanon Valley. Vande Meerakker fired 64 shots on goal which ranked third for Alvernia and blocked seven shots.
