Zach Naylon is returning to the Alvernia University men’s soccer coaching staff after a 14-year absence.
Naylon joined Alvernia in 2005 after transferring from the University of Delaware and went on to have two highly successful seasons with the Golden Wolves. During his time at Alvernia, he earned the respect of teammates, coaches, and opposing players throughout the conference.
In 2005, Naylon helped lead the team to its first playoff appearance in program history. The following season, he helped guide the men’s soccer team to its first PAC Championship and an ECAC Tournament appearance. Individually, Naylon was recognized as the 2006 PAC Player of the Year and earned First Team All-PAC honors, Second Team All-Region honors from d3kicks.com, and First Team All-Region recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In 2022, Naylon was inducted into the University Hall of Fame.
Following his playing career, Naylon attended graduate school and returned to Alvernia, where he served as a coach for five years. After leaving the coaching staff, he began a career in sales with a packaging company, where he continues to work today.
Naylon currently resides in Wyomissing with his wife, Kelly, and their son, Cohen. He remains active in soccer through men’s league play and by supporting and watching his son play. His return to Alvernia brings him back to a program that played an important role in his playing and coaching career.
