Alvernia University Athletics

Matthew Seifert joined the Alvernia Men's Volleyball staff in September of 2019. Seifert, a Reading native and 2011 graduate of Exeter Township High School in 2011, played collegiately at Penn State University from 2011 - 2016. While at Penn State, Seifert was a four year starter and two-time captain. In 2016, he earned First Team All-EIVA honors. Following his collegiate career, Seifert played over seas in 2017 with Ethnikos Piraeus of Athens, Greece in the Greek Hellenic Volleyleague. Seifert finished the season as the fifth-best middle blocker in the league and took  home league MVP honors in week 17. In 2018, Seifert spent the season in Bühl, Germany with the Volleyball Bisons Bühl of the 1st Bundesliga. He finished in the top 12 for total blocks and blocker per set. Seifert has previously coached for the Exeter Boy's Volleyball team in 2017.
