Travis Mintzer joins the Alvernia men's volleyball coaching staff in 2017.
A recent graduate from Rutgers-Newark with a degree in Criminal Justice, Mintzer was a member of the 2015 CVC Championship team with reached the NCAA Elite 8. Named to the CVC All-Tournament team, Mintzer finished his junior year averaging 2.88 points per set, 2.31 kills per set, 1.24 digs per set. He had 11 matches with double-digit kills, including 12 in the CVC title match and 10 in the NCAA Tournament win over Endicott, and three double-doubles (kills-digs),
In his sophomore campaign, Mintzer led the team in points (264) and kills (219) while playing in every match for the 9-17 Raiders. Tied for second on squad in total blocks (65), Mintzer netted double figure points a dozen times with nine double-digit kill efforts.
A year earlier, Mintzer served as one of two freshmen to start in every match and play in every game for the 4-21 Raiders. He led the team with a .304 hitting percentage, 15 solo blocks, 40 assisted blocks and 55 total blocks, and ranked second on the squad in points (232.0), points average (2.76), kills (187) and kills average (2.23).

Prior to Rutgers-Newark, Mintzer helped Emmaus High School to back-to-back District XI titles as a junior and senior. He was a four-year letter winner who was an All-LVIAC pick three times and a two-time team MVP for the Hornets.
