Nelson played in 44 games for the Golden Wolves during his first year and made starts in 43 of those games primarily in center field. Nelson posted a .328 batting average in 2024 with 45 hits, his 11 doubles was in a tie for second most on Alvernia, he recorded two triples and was third in home runs with four. Nelson also drove in 28 runs, scored 38 runs, worked 17 walks and was hit by six pitches, he also recorded a .425 on base percentage and a .526 slugging percentage for a .951 on base plus slugging percentage. Nelson tallied 12 multi-hit games including a 4-4 performance with a double, two home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored against NJCU. Nelson also recorded two hits in all three NCAA Regional games including a two hit, three RBI game against Case Western Reserve in the season finale to earn him a spot on the Cleveland All-Regional team. In the field, Nelson recorded 94 putouts and added an assist on 97 chances and committed just two errors in the field, posting a .979 fielding percentage. Nelson also helped lead the Golden Wolves win the 2024 MAC Commonwealth Championship where he tallied a hit in all three games against Messiah and also helped lead Alvernia to a NCAA Regional appearance.
