Damien Abrams joined the Alvernia University staff in the summer of 2019, bringing with him 7 years of coaching experience. Looking to give back to his community through basketball, he was given the opportunity by Mastery North Athletic Director, Mike Poploskie, to come assist with the high school girl’s basketball program. He started as an assistant coach for Mastery Charter North under Coach David Polett in 2011. In his time as an assistant he help lead the Lady Pumas to a 20-4 season. The following season Coach Abrams was promoted to Head coach of the Lady Pumas thanks to David Polett and Mike Poploskie. In the 6 seasons as head coach, he lead the Pumas to five PIAA-D12 Division Championships, four PIAA-D12 Finals Appearance, five PIAA Tournament Appearances and first PIAA Public League Championship. In 2015, he was named Public League Coach of the Year. Through his success in high basketball he was given a great opportunity to join the coaching staff of Rosemont College in 2018 under Coach Rayne Reber. In his first season with the Ravens, he help the college achieved its first CSAC championship and first Division III NCAA tournament experience. Damien Abrams is very honored to join Alvernia University Women’s Basketball program.
