Robert Reeves

Robert Reeves comes to Alvernia with over 20 years of coaching experience

Reeves began his Manor College coaching career as an assistant for Quincy Reed for the 2002-2003 season. In his first season as an assistant, the Blue Jays went 11-6 overall (10-4 Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference, third place) and they finished as EPCC Postseason Tournament Runners-Up. Manor were 2003-2004 EPCC League Champions.

He was promoted to Head Coach for the 2004-2005 season. In his first four seasons (2004-2008), Manor was 64-14 overall (0.821), including a 49-8 EPCC mark (0.860). They were 27-2 at home during this stretch (0.931), including an 18-game home winning streak between December 3, 2005 and November 27, 2007. The Blue Jays were also 36-12 (0.750) on the road in Reeves’ years in the EPCC. Manor won 10 straight overall between January 14 and February 10, 2006, which is its longest during Reeves’ head coaching career. The Blue Jays won three straight EPCC League and Postseason Tournament Championships (2004-2007). They were also Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association (PCAA) State Runners-Up during this same period. Manor was also 2006 Turnpike Regular Season Tournament Champions. The Blue Jays were also 20-3 (0.870) during the 2006-2007 season, which is Reeves’ best record and his only 20-win season to date. They were 2007-2008 EPCC League and Postseason Tournament Runners-Up.

The Blue Jays were 123-76 overall (0.618), including a 96-59 National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Division II record (0.619) from 2008 through 2017. Manor was also 58-26 at home (0.691) and 63-44 on the road (0.589) under Reeves in the NJCAA. They finished as high as second place (13-5) during the 2009-2010 season. Manor’s best Region XIX Division II mark under Reeves was 15-3 and a third place regular season finish in 2010-2011. The Blue Jays won as many as 18 games in consecutive seasons (2009-2010 and 2010-2011). They won double-digit games overall in seven of eight seasons between 2008-2009 and 2015-2016. Manor won double-digit games within Region XIX Division II between 2008-2009 and 2014-2015. The Blue Jays qualified for the Region XIX Division II Postseason Tournament in seven times in Reeves’ first eight seasons in the NJCAA (2009-2016). They were tournament semifinalists four times (2010, 2011, 2013, and 2016) and were 2014 runners-up. Manor became the school’s first athletics program to qualify for the NJCAA District Playoffs in 2014. The Blue Jays have a 4-8 NJCAA Postseason won-loss record.

Altogether, Reeves has a 187-90 overall (0.675), including a 145-67 EPCC/NJCAA Region XIX Division II record (0.684) as a head coach in 13 seasons. He also has an 85-28 home (0.752) and 99-56 road (0.639) records. The Blue Jays have also qualified for the EPCC/NJCAA postseason a dozen times in 13 seasons and have a 10-12 record (0.455). He also has the honor of being

awarded the coach of the year in2005, 2006, and 2007. Including his two years as an assistant, Manor played in the postseason 14 times in 15 years.

Reeves was also the Manor College Director of Athletics from 2006 through 2017. During his leadership, the Blue Jays moved from the EPCC to the NJCAA beginning in the 2008-2009 school year. Including women’s basketball, he also oversaw the men’s basketball and soccer and women’s soccer and volleyball programs. Women’s volleyball was reinstated for the 2010-2011 school year after a 12-year absence. Baseball was added and is scheduled to begin in the Spring 2018. It will be Manor’s first Spring sport since Women’s Tennis competed in 1982.

In Manor’s final season in the EPCC, guard Amberel Diaz was voted to the 2007-2008 Women’s Basketball All-Conference and All-State Teams.

The following players have been voted to the All-Region XIX Division II First Team (Since 2011-2012): Shakirah Gray, Forward (2011-2012), Tyshay Britten, Center (2012-2013), Dominique Williams, Forward (2014-2015), Carolyn Cosey, Guard (2015-2016), and Tamara Sellers, Guard (2015-2016).

The following Blue Jays signed letters of intent with a NCAA Division I school since 2008: Britni House (2006-2008 with Manor) (University of Nevada-Las Vegas), Sharmane Hall (2009-2011) (Prairie View A&M), Tyshay Britten (2012-2014) (North Carolina Central University), and Carolyn Cosey (2016-2017) (Niagara University). Numerous other Manor College women’s basketball players have also signed letters of intent with NCAA Division II and III schools since 2003.

The following student-athletes earned academic achievement for earning 3.50 grade-point average or better (Since 2012-2013): Tyshay Britten (2012-2013), Darriel Bennett (2014-2015), Mohargany Jones (2014-2015), Sierra Wilkinson (2014-2015), Dominique Williams (2014-2015), and Julianne Kostic (2015-2016). Kostic also received the 2014-2015 The Brian Barry Award. This award goes to the student-athlete that personifies good sportsmanship and is a team player.

The following student-athletes were named to the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Fall 2016 All-Academic Team for earning a 3.25 grade-point average or better: Etreece Adams, Kalima Daniels, and Tiana Garvin.

In 2017 Robert accepted the Assistant Women Basketball Coach / Recruiting Coordinator position at Rosemont College offered to him by Head Coach Rayne Reber. Coach Rob was able to help the Ravens to a successful 2018-2019 season. The Ravens finished the season with a 24-8 record, 18-0 in the conference and Conference Championship. The Ravens earned a postseason invitation to the

NCAA DIII tournament first in Rosemont College history for women’s basketball.

Coach Reeves lives in Philadelphia with his wife Vicki. Robert and Vicki has 3 children. Khloe, Robert Jr and Kelly. 1 Granddaughter Kaylin.
