Gaston competed in seven competitions in her first year with Alvernia and tallied her career best time in the 6k at the Lock Haven XC Invitational with a time of 21:50.8 (tenth place finish). Gaston took third at the MAC Championships with a time of 22:44.5 and was named first team All-MAC. She competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional where she finished sixth with a time of 22:12.8, which qualified her for the NCAA Championships. Gaston became the first Alvernia cross country runner to compete at the NCAA Championships, she recorded a time of 23:01.1 and finished 57th in the competition. Gaston posted a time of 22:44.5 at Gettysburg’s Aubrey Shenk Invitational, where she took second and posted her career best 5k time with a 18:31.0 at the LVC Dutchmen Invite and finished first.
