Alvernia University Athletics

Jennifer Perry

Perry joined the women's tennis coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2009 fall season.  She was promoted to head coach in the summer of 2013.

Perry guided the Golden Wolves to a very successful 2014-15 season that saw the team accomplish a list of firsts.  The Golden Wolves won their first MAC Championship and made their first NCAA appearance in 2015.  Alvernia knocked off top-seeded Lebanon Valley College 5-1 in the MAC final behind conference Player of the Year Julie Seidel and advanced to play North Carolina Wesleyan in the first round of the NCAA Championships.

Freshman Cassandra Noray became the first Alvernia freshman to win a flight at the MAC Individual Tournament in the fall.  She entered the draw as the #2 seed and advanced to the final where she knocked off the top-seed from Wilkes with a three-set victory.  In addition to being named the MAC Player of the Year, Seidel also picked up the Alvernia Female Athlete of the Year Award at the senior banquet, and the team posted the highest team GPA on campus.

Perry was a four-year scholar athlete at Millersville where she earned her degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.  She graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2005 where she was a four-year member of the varsity tennis team.
