Alvernia University Athletics

Micaela Sensenig

Micaela Sensenig joined Alvernia as the Head Men's and Women's Volleyball coach in June of 2025. She joined Alvernia following two years as the Head Coach of Penn State Berks Women's Volleyball. In addition to leading the Women's Volleyball program, she will also oversee the relaunch of Men's Volleyball in January of 2027.

Sensenig brings to Alvernia a strong passion for the game and has additional experience and involvement in local and regional club volleyball. She also brings an emphasis on the holistic development of student-athletes, both on and off the court, and wants student-athletes to have a shared mission in their respective programs.

“Micaela’s passion for team building and leadership make her an ideal coach to lead both programs,” said Cory Beddick, Director of Athletics and Recreation. “Her energy and enthusiasm will be a tremendous addition to the campus community, and will enable her to lead the re-introduction of men’s volleyball while also working to elevate the women’s program.”

“We believe in her ability to provide student-athletes with a first-class athletic experience that includes development on and off the court and competing for championships,” added Beddick.

Sensenig is a 2019 graduate of Central Penn College, where she earned her degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
