Football Assistant Coach

Joe Bertz

Joe Bertz, a four-year member of Alvernia’s football team, joined Alvernia’s staff in 2026, following a year as a student-coach. 

After completing his four-year playing career with Alvernia Football, Bertz returned for the 2025 season as a student-coach to assistant with the linebackers. Bertz worked closely with the inside linebackers, helping to guide McCabe Piavis to an All-MAC and All-ECAC selection in 2025. Bertz also assisted with the JV team as their special teams coordinator.
