Jon King took the reigns as head golf coach in the Fall of 2001 after serving one season as the assistant coach under Adam Hertz. He is entering his 22nd season with Alvernia (2023-24).

Under King, the Golden Wolves golf team has had ten first team All-MAC Commonwealth selections, 12 second team All-MAC selections and two MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year selections. Alvernia also took home the MAC Commonwealth team title in 2012, Kyung Chung won the individual MAC Commonwealth Championship and was named Golfer of the Year in 2019 and in 2018 Keith Noonan took home the individual champion and Golfer of the Year honors. King was also involved in the creation of the Yocum Cup against Albright in 2006 and Alvernia has eight wins all time in the series, with the overall record even at 8-8.

King is a 1998 graduate of Millersville University, where he played his senior year as an alternate with the Marauder Golf Team. He holds a BSE in Biology and, received his MBA from Alvernia. He graduated in 1993 from Lancaster Mennonite High School.

King also holds the title of Instructional Technology Faculty Support Manager. King and his wife Megan live in Wyomissing, Pa., with their daughters, Mallory and Leah.Â
