Track and Field Events: Distance
Tim Hartung joined the Alvernia staff in October of 2018 as the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field. Hartung transition to assistant coach in the Summer of 2022.
Hartung joins the Alvernia staff following time as an assistant men's and women's cross country coach at Springfield College in Massachusetts.
A seven-time NCAA Division III All-American, Hartung brings unsurpassed talent to Alvernia's Cross Country and Track & Field programs. Hartung earned All-American honors twice in cross country, twice in indoor track and field, and three times in outdoor track and field while attending York (Pa.) College. Hartung is a five-time All-Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Year, and a three-time CAC men's cross country champion. During his career, Hartung also was named a Capital One Academic All-American on two occasions.
After graduating from York in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Hartung joined the Spartan's staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cross Country program. A year later, he joined Lebanon Valley College as an assistant coach. In 2016, Hartung joined the staff at Goucher College as a Graduate Assistant Coach for Cross Country and Track & Field while obtaining his Master's in Athletic Leadership and Administration.
A Reading native, Hartung graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2010. As a registered nurse, Hartung has spent time at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Chesapeake Medical Staffing.
