Alvernia Tops Marywood, Evens PAC Record

Sikorski And Stigura Lead Offense

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 13, 2007) – Seniors Amy Sikorski (Topton, Pa./Brandywine Heights) and Jenn Stigura (Barto, Pa./Central Catholic) led the offense with 19 and 17 kills respectively and Alvernia College recovered from a game two loss to earn a 3-1 win over Marywood University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.

Alvernia took a 30-23 decision in the opening game and was a point away from a 2-0 lead only to see Marywood score five straight points for a 31-29 win. The Crusaders stormed out of the changeover in game three for a 30-14 win and posted a similar 30-13 win in the deciding game.

Alvernia freshman Leah Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) recorded a career-best 45 assists. Older sister Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) posted a match-best 27 digs and three Crusaders recorded three or more service aces led by Lauren Crimi with four.

Alvernia will continue the conference schedule at Rosemont on Monday.
