Kessler Saves Three For Crusaders

BOX SCORE

Immaculata, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2007) – Junior goalie Richard Kessler (Reading, Pa./Reading) made three saves and junior forward David Schaeffer (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) scored the game-tying goal as Alvernia College played to a 2-2 tie with Immaculata University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action at Immaculata.

The host Mighty Macs (6-5-1, 1-2-1 PAC) got on the board first with a goal in the 22nd minute. Alvernia (4-8-1, 2-2-1 PAC) took little time to knot the score at 1-1 on a goal in the 29th minute by Cory Lush (Reading, Pa./Reading), who was assisted by junior Tim Marcinek (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle).
Immaculata quickly regained the one goal lead scoring in the 33rd minute and the hosts enjoyed the 2-1 advantage at the halftime break.

Schaeffer netted the equalizer in the 70th minute, but neither team could find the back of the net over the next 40 minutes. Immaculata got off a pair of shots in the second overtime period, but Kessler turned away the only one on net to preserve the tie.

Alvernia will host Neumann College next Wednesday.
