Bethlehem, Pa. (Aug. 31, 2007) - Alvernia College lost to Muhlenberg College, 3-0, in game one of pool play Friday afternoon at the 5th Annual Greyhound Premiere Volleyball Invitational, but bounced back with a 3-0 defeat of SUNY Institute of Technology in game two to advance to the gold bracket on Saturday.
Alvernia will face a pair of other 1-1 teams in Penn State-Altoona and Centenary College on Saturday at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. respectively.
Muhlenberg, which cruised to a 30-20, 30-3, 30-15 win over Alvernia in the first match of the day, joins Moravian (2-0) and Ithaca (2-0) in Saturday's Championship Bracket. SUNY-Institute, which Alvernia defeated 30-20, 30-20, 30-18 in match two, will join Rowan and Sweet Briar in the Silver Bracket.
