Centenary Sweeps Alvernia In PAC Opener

Minnich Leads Crusaders With Eight Kills

Hackettstown, N.J. (Sept. 10, 2007) – Centenary College earned a 3-0 victory over Alvernia College in its first ever Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball match Monday evening at Hackettstown High School.

Centenary (3-6, 1-0 PAC) opened with a 30-26 win in game one and won 30-18 in the middle game before closing with a 30-25 win in the deciding game.

Alvernia senior Natalie Minnich (Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley), appearing in her first match this season, racked up a team-high eight kills. Six Crusaders tallied at least 10 attack attempts and four players ended with four or more kills. Freshman Leah Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) finished with 20 assists and junior Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, Pa./Notre Dame) led the defense with 13 digs.

Alvernia will return home to face Immaculata University in a PAC match on Saturday.
