BOX SCORE

Elizabethtown, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2007) – Alvernia College freshman Morgan Davidhesier (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) scored his second goal of the season, but Elizabethtown tallied a pair of second-half goals for a 3-1 win Saturday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at Ira. R. Herr Field.

Etown (5-1) opened the scoring in the 20th minute when George Severini scored on a penalty kick giving the hosts a 1-0 lead. The Blue Jays posted six first-half corners and eight shots, but had just the 1-0 lead at the break.

Matt Diller scored on an assist from Severini in the 54th minute on a header that put Etown up 2-0. Davidhesier headed home his second of the season two minutes later assisted by Tim Marcinek (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle) to cut the deficit in half, but the Blue Jays posted the insurance goal in the 67th minute and held Alvernia off the board the rest of the way.

Alvernia junior Richard Kessler (Reading, Pa./Reading) made seven saves for the Crusaders (1-5) who will finally open up the home schedule on Tuesday when they host Haverford College.
