BOX SCORE

Scranton, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2007) – The Alvernia College offense struggled to finish early opportunities and Marywood tallied single goals in each half for a 2-0 win Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's soccer action at Marywood.

The Pacers (7-3, 3-1 PAC) got a first-half goal from Lisa Hanselman on a set play and Marissa Ruda scored late in regulation for the 2-0 win. Marywood held a 12-10 advantage in shots and had seven of the game's 12 corner kicks.

Alvernia pressured Marywood early, but Meghan Coyle made six of her seven saves in the opening half to keep the Crusaders (4-5-1, 2-3 PAC) off the board. Alvernia junior Danielle Fitzpatrick (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) made five saves in net for the Crusaders, all in the first half.

Alvernia will host Albright College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. to kick off a string of three straight non-conference games.
