Alvernia Picks Up First Freedom Win

Soltis Hammers Down 10 Kills For Crusaders

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 15, 2008) - Alvernia University (5-13, 1-4) got a match-high 10 kills from freshman Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) in a 3-0 win over Delaware Valley (12-10, 0-5) in Freedom Conference women's volleyball action Wednesday night at the Physical Education Center.  It was the first volleyball conference win for the Crusaders since moving to the Freedom Conference this season.

Alvernia won set one 25-17 and needed a few extra serves for a 28-26 win in set two before closing the match with a 25-19 win in the deciding set.

Sophomore Leah Crimi (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) tallied 21 assists for the Crusaders and three players finished with six or more digs led by senior Lauren Crimi (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) with nine.

Alvernia will travel to Eastern University for a conference match next Tuesday.
