BOX SCORE

St. Davids, Pa. (Oct. 22, 2008) - Alvernia University (9-5-1, 4-1) ran its overall and conference win streak to four games Wednesday afternoon with a 3-2 win at Eastern University (8-6-1, 2-2-1) in Freedom Conference men's soccer action.  Alvernia has posted three goals in each of the last four conference wins, the last three being 3-2 decisions over the top three teams in the preseason coaches poll.

Junior Adam Lush (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) got this started right away for the Crusaders netting his fourth goal of the season in the third minute.  Seventeen minutes later sophomore Morgan Davidheiser (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season for a 2-0 lead.

Eastern cut that lead in half on a penalty kick in the 37th minute, and the Crusaders enjoyed the 2-1 lead at the break.

Alvernia got its third goal of the game in the 77th minute when Lush set up freshman Domenic Montone (Elkins Park, Pa./Abington) and Eastern was able to pull within one with just six seconds left in the game.

Senior Richard Kessler (Reading, Pa./Reading) made five saves in net to pick up his seventh win.

Alvernia will travel to King's College on Saturday for a conference match up with the Monarchs.
