Alvernia Drops Home Match On Senior Day

Crusaders Honor Playing Careers Of Crimi And Hetke

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2008) - Misericordia University (15-10, 3-4) won three sets by close scores to secure a 3-0 win over Alvernia University (5-15, 1-6) Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference women's volleyball action on Senior Day at Alvernia.

The Cougars took a two-point win in the opening set, 25-23, and wrapped up the match with 25-21 and 25-20 wins.  Freshman middle hitter Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) led the Crusaders with eight kills and five solo blocks.  Sophomore Leah Crimi (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) handed out 20 assists.

Senior Lauren Crimi (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) had one kill, two aces, and six digs while Laura Hetke (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) had two kills, an ace, and a dig.

Alvernia will next play at Wilkes in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday.
