Alyssa Soltis (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) hit .500 with 11 kills as Alvernia University (4-12) swept its own tri-match Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Cedar Crest College (4-16) in non-conference women's volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.
Soltis had three kills in the opening set, a 25-18 win for the Crusaders, and as the hosts posted an identical win in set two, Soltis added two more kills. She finished with six kills on 11 swings with no errors in the final set, a 25-16 win for Alvernia.
Alvernia defeated Penn State-Berks in the opening match of the day, 3-0.
Sophomore setter
Leah Crimi (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) had 19 assists in the win over Cedar Crest.
Laura Hetke (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and
Gabrielle Albanesius (Philadelphia, Pa./Merion Mercy) both finished with five kills, and senior
Lauren Crimi (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) had a team-high nine digs.
Alvernia will host King's College on Tuesday in a Freedom Conference match at 7:00 p.m.
